| When can we have the birthday party? |
On Saturday's... or Monday to Saturday during the School Holidays.
(Playgroups can have their children's Birthday Parties during the week also)
|
| What time will it start? |
On Saturday's and during School Holidays - the tour must start at 10.30am and 2.30pm.
You are welcome to come earlier and let the kids eat and open presents beforehand - or stay later and have lunch after.
(Please ensure your guests arrive early and are ready to start the tour on time) |
| What's involved in a tour? |
A tour guide will take you up to the baby animal pen to pat the baby calves. We will give you a brief history of the farm and the reason why we started Maleny Dairies.
You will then be shown how handmilking is done using our cow 'Sweetpea' or 'FairyBell'. Children will also be invited to put their thumbs in the suctions cups to feel the suction of the milking machines.
A walk down into the pit of the dairy to see where the cows get milked. (At the 2.30pm session you can see the cows being milked)
Then we go to the factory so see where the milk is processed and bottled.
See the coldroom and drystore.
Watch a 6 minute DVD showing the process of milk from the cow to the bottle and everything in between.
At the conclusion of the tour, you will get to try some of the award winning flavoured milks.
|
| How long does it take? |
A tour will generally take approx 1 1/2 hours, depending on the size of the group.
|
| How much does it costs? |
$9.00 each for anyone 2 years and older. This is for the 1 1/2 hour tour only. The tour guide will not stay with the children once the tour is finished. |
| Is food available? |
We have a kiosk where you are able to purchase Cappuccino's, Milkshakes, Thickshakes, Softserves, Sundae's, Packets of Chips, Chocolates etc. We do not have lunch items.
The town of Maleny is only approx 4 minutes drive away if you need to purchase lunch or something.
We have two large plate electric BBQ's, so you are welcome to bring items for a Barbie. |
| Can we decorate for the party? |
Yes, you sure can. Though you will need to pull it down and put all rubbish in the bin, leaving the area how you found it.
|
| What do I need to bring? |
You may like to bring a camera and capture a cute moment of your children with the animals.
We also suggest an esky, as everyone usually wants to take something home with them. If you forget to bring an ice brick, please ask for one.
|
| Do I need old shoes? |
Only if extremely wet. We have bitumen and gravel roads. The tour is inside and outside so please dress accordingly. |
